Operational Management:
Coordinate and prioritize resources to meet business goals (projects, growth strategy, client development, industry involvement, etc.)
Understand and reinforce our process driven culture
Participate in quarterly and annual strategic planning sessions with the leadership team
Team Leadership and Development:
Serve as the leader of the construction team; providing thoughtful and confident direction that empowers teammates and builds trust
Support project leadership in resolving high level client concerns
Recruit and mentor construction professionals to ensure alignment with our core values, processes, and goals.
Intentionally facilitate professional development of team members to leverage the team strengths; identify and correct gaps in knowledge or experience; and build new leaders and team depth
Conduct effective quarterly and annual reviews for all direct reports to leverage the team’s capabilities with constructive feedback and support.
Business Development:
Lead the business development effort for the construction team including client presentations, bid reviews, and proposal development
Develop and maintain client relationships
Provide strategic input on the size and kind of projects needed to balance the team’s workload; prioritize sales effort to achieve this balance.
Identify and pursue new markets or service offerings that complement our resources and competencies.
Represent C1S in construction industry associations; promote C1S involvement in the local construction community.
Financial Management:
Manage all direct and indirect costs associated with the construction team; full P&L accountability to meet financial goals
Prepare annual budget, proactively monitor and communicate variances
Perform monthly project reviews with project leadership; forecast revenue and margin accordingly
Provide oversight on project invoicing to achieve cash positive operations
Provide accurate and timely data for corporate KPI tracking
Manage construction risk related to project selection, safety, insurance, etc.
Requirements:
10+ years in construction operations management
5 years of experience in the Dallas market
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other relevant field
Experience with design-build, especially manufacturing and mission critical facilities
