Construction Superintendent II

Construction Group

Can You Run a Jobsite Without Losing Your Cool (or Your Tape Measure)?

Every construction project has a plan. The good ones also have a Superintendent who knows that plans change.

Maybe a delivery is late. Maybe three trades need the same space. Maybe production can't stop, the owner needs answers, and safety still comes first.

That's where you come in.

If you're the kind of leader who can solve problems before they become headaches, earn the respect of subcontractors without raising your voice, and walk a jobsite seeing ten things everyone else missed, keep reading.

Who We Are

At C1S Group, we don't just build projects. We solve problems that most firms run away from.

For more than 25 years, we've partnered with Fortune 500 manufacturers to design and build facilities in the food & beverage, life sciences, aerospace & defense, and technology industries. Many of our projects happen inside active manufacturing facilities where production continues while construction moves forward.

That's not easy. Fortunately, that's exactly what we do best.

We're also serious about building a workplace where people actually enjoy coming to work. That's earned us recognition as one of the Best Places to Work by the Dallas Business Journal because we believe taking care of our people is the best way to take care of our clients.

Around here you'll find high trust, high accountability, talented teammates, very little bureaucracy, and people who genuinely enjoy building exceptional projects together.

The Difference You'll Make

As a Project Superintendent II, you're the face of C1S on the jobsite. You'll lead field operations for a medium-sized project or multiple smaller projects, while ensuring every person who walks onto your site goes home safely.

You'll coordinate subcontractors, keep work moving, maintain quality, protect the schedule, and build strong relationships with owners, inspectors, and trade partners.

You'll be flexible when circumstances change, firm when standards matter, and professional in every interaction.

In short, you'll make sure the project runs the way it should even when construction decides to throw a curveball.

What You'll Do

You'll lead the field while partnering with Project Managers, subcontractors, clients, inspectors, and internal teams to deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead all onsite construction activities for assigned projects from mobilization through completion

  • Serve as C1S's onsite subject matter expert for the contracted scope of work

  • Promote a safety-first culture by identifying and mitigating risks every day

  • Conduct site orientations, lead weekly toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA compliance

  • Develop emergency action plans and maintain required safety documentation

  • Maintain detailed daily logs documenting site activity, inspections, visitors, subcontractors, and quality observations

  • Coordinate inspections and build positive working relationships with permitting authorities

  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and scope changes to ensure accurate field execution

  • Resolve field questions quickly to maintain productivity and keep projects moving

  • Perform daily quality inspections and proactively address installation issues

  • Verify materials and equipment meet approved submittals before installation

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, procurement schedules, and three-week look-ahead schedules

  • Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings to review schedules, staffing, sequencing, and project milestones

  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors while holding them accountable for safety, quality, staffing, and schedule commitments

  • Support Project Managers with labor, equipment, and budget awareness throughout the project

You're Probably a Great Fit If...

  • People naturally look to you for leadership on the jobsite.

  • You believe safety is something you demonstrate—not just something you talk about.

  • You can read construction drawings as easily as most people read a menu.

  • You earn respect through preparation, communication, and consistency.

  • You know when to coach, when to challenge, and when to simply listen.

  • You solve problems instead of assigning blame.

  • You understand that the best projects happen when every trade succeeds together.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred

  • 10–15 years of construction experience

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, MEP, process piping drawings, specifications, P&IDs, RFIs, and submittals

  • OSHA 30 certification required

  • Experience coordinating work in active or critical operating facilities

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Financial awareness and the ability to support project budget performance

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and responsiveness

  • Alignment with the C1S Core Values

What the Job Requires

This is a field leadership position, so you'll be where the work is. That means you'll:

  • Be onsite whenever subcontractors are performing work

  • Wear required PPE and promote safe work practices every day

  • Travel daily to projects throughout the DFW Metroplex

  • Climb stairs and ladders, navigate active construction sites, and occasionally lift or move materials

Why C1S?

Because great Superintendents deserve more than endless bureaucracy and unnecessary meetings.

At C1S, you'll work alongside experienced builders who trust each other, solve tough challenges together, and genuinely enjoy what they do. We believe the best jobsites are built on preparation, communication, accountability, and a little good humor along the way.

If you're looking for a place where your leadership matters, your experience is valued, and your work makes a real impact, we'd love to meet you.

Bring your hard hat.

Bring your leadership.

Bring your "Make It Happen" attitude.

We'll take it from there.

Tell us about yourself.
