At C1S, you won't spend your summer making coffee, organizing files, or watching the clock. You'll get real-world, hands-on experience working alongside construction and engineering professionals who are designing and building some pretty cool facilities.
Whether you're studying construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, this is your chance to see what happens when engineering and construction come together and figure out where you fit in.
Who We Are
C1S Group is a Dallas-based construction and engineering firm with projects across the U.S. Since 2001, we've designed and built facilities that improve the built environment. Our team provides construction management, field supervision, engineering design, and sustainability services to commercial and manufacturing facility owners.

What You'll Actually Do
As a C1S intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals and get a front-row seat to how projects go from idea → design → construction → finished facility.
Depending on your interests and the projects you're supporting, your summer may include:
Hands-on exposure to construction and engineering project workflows.
Work alongside project managers, superintendents, engineers, designers, and other project team members.
Learn how to read and understand plans and specifications.
Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, logs, and other project records.
Support construction teams with safety walks, site audits, quality reviews, and field activities.
Assist with estimating and bid preparation, including quantity surveying, pricing, and proposals.
Support engineering and design teams with project administration and assigned design tasks.
Learn how design decisions impact what happens in the field and vice versa.
Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and other design professionals.
Assist with scheduling, planning, coordination, and project updates.
Use industry software and technology, including REVIT, Bluebeam, Procore, and design/project management tools.
Help identify ways to make our teams and processes more efficient.
Participate in C1S team-building activities, because work should be more than just work.
And yes, you'll have a mentor. Someone who can answer your questions, share what they've learned, and help you get the most out of your internship.
About You
You don't need to know exactly what you want to do with your degree yet. That's kind of the point.
We're looking for someone who is:
Pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Curious about how things are designed, built, and brought to life.
A self-starter who is motivated, willing to learn, and not afraid to ask questions.
Comfortable communicating with others and working as part of a team.
Familiar with Microsoft Office.
Interested in gaining real-world experience…not just another line on a résumé.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Available to commit to 8–10 weeks of full-time work during the summer or 4-5 weeks in the winter.
