The Difference You Will Make: You will have the opportunity to work with our experienced preconstruction team to develop construction estimates and proposals for new builds and existing building renovations of commercial, manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities. On the Preconstruction team, you will work with our clients to understand their needs and then prepare conceptual, design-build, and hard bid estimates and proposals to deliver a solution that fits. Your experience will get you the job; your professionalism, integrity, and customer focus will ensure your success.
A TYPICAL DAY & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and understand project plans and specifications for all CSI categories of work; obtain clarification from architects and engineers when necessary.
Perform accurate, thorough, and timely quantity takeoffs using CSI coding structure for all phases of drawing development (conceptual design, SDs, CDs, P&ID’s).
Attend project bid meetings, site tours, and bidder interviews as required.
Solicit and evaluate trade partner bids.
Support proposal development by clarifying scope, assumptions, allowances, and exclusions.
Develop value engineering options with associated cost impact.
Use estimating and pre-construction software, including on-screen takeoff, Building Connected, and Bluebeam.
Assess workload and proactively communicate constraints to ensure the team delivers timely bid submissions.
Continuously increase knowledge in facility design systems and construction means and methods.
Actively engage with trade partners and industry associations to support business development.
ABOUT YOU (YOUR EXPERTISE):
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
5+ years of construction experience. DFW area experience preferred.
Knowledgeable of means and methods for construction in most CSI categories.
Possess good organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Resourceful and diligent in seeking solutions to problems and adapting to new situations.
Proficient with Excel, Bluebeam, MS Outlook, and other estimating software.
