The Difference You Will Make: If your idea of fun is balancing complex HVAC loads, solving GMP puzzles, and mentoring the next generation of engineers—while shaping facilities that drive innovation in pharma, biotech, and labs—then you might just be the Sr. Mechanical Engineer IV we’re looking for.

At C1S, we don’t just design systems—we engineer environments where discoveries are made. As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer IV specializing in Life Sciences, you’ll be the go-to expert, guiding teams through intricate renovations, coordinating across disciplines, and producing designs that don’t just meet codes but set new standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the full spectrum of mechanical design: HVAC, plumbing, utilities, cleanroom systems, and beyond.

  • Translate complex requirements into construction documents that contractors trust and clients celebrate.

  • Mentor junior engineers, reviewing their work while pushing overall project quality to the next level.

  • Partner with project managers, architects, and trade partners to deliver seamless, compliant, and constructible designs.

  • Jump into the field—survey sites, troubleshoot, and ensure the design intent makes it from concept to commissioning.

  • Be the mechanical SME who clients and colleagues alike turn to for insight, clarity, and solutions.

What you Bring:

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering + PE license (required).

  • 10+ years of mechanical design experience for industrial/commercial renovations (ducts, pipes, equipment—you name it).

  • 5+ years designing for Life Sciences facilities—pharma, biotech, or labs—with deep knowledge of GMP.

  • Advanced plumbing design experience (because cleanrooms aren’t the only things that need to stay spotless).

  • Expertise in Revit, retrofit solutions, and facility audits.

  • Cleanroom, data center, or mission-critical experience? That’s icing on the cake.

  • Leadership chops: mentoring, guiding, and elevating the team around you.

The Perks:

  • Impactful projects in industries that change lives.

  • A collaborative, forward-thinking team that’s got your back.

  • Opportunities to flex your technical expertise while mentoring the next wave of talent.

  • Travel occasionally (<15%), but plenty of lab/office time to keep your coffee mug warm.

If you’re ready to take the lead on high-stakes, high-impact designs in the Life Sciences world—apply now and let’s engineer the future together.

Tell us about yourself.
